Scholarship Opportunity + Inclusivity Pledge

Scholarship

This scholarship has been established to support the wellbeing and advancement of the Black community, BIPOC individuals, and/or those who have been financially impacted by the pandemic. We aim to equip all individuals with equal rights to support, encourage, and provide necessary tools needed to manage their PCOS and their wellbeing in the manner they choose. We believe that having access to this information and this healing process empowers individuals, especially women and BIPOC individuals who have historically been overlooked and exploited in our medical system, to feel more empowered, regain bodily autonomy, and feel more at home in their bodies. This scholarship, specifically, encourages members of the BIPOC communities, and/or anyone who has been financially harmed by the Covid pandemic, to empower themselves and lay the foundation to manage their PCOS for life.

Our Values

Holistic PCOS exists because we believe all women, menstruators, and PCOSers (regardless of how they identify or what communities they belong to) deserve access to the information that will empower them to have autonomy over their bodies, symptoms, and care choices.

As a small business, we are constantly striving toward making our offerings more accessible to a broader range of people. We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and are infusing our company culture to be taking steps to be better allies, partners, and safe harbors for people from all walks of life.

As a company, especially one founded by a white, cis-gendered, able-bodied woman, we recognize that we have a responsibility to use any privilege we may have to support others. Despite our best efforts to unlearn any privilege and biases that we may each carry, and learn anew how to support a diverse community of beautiful humans, we know that we will still mess up, because that is part of the process. And while it is our own responsibility to learn and hold ourselves accountable and minimize as many mistakes as possible, we also hope that our community will call us in when they witness something that doesn’t sit right. Holistic PCOS has always stood for inclusion, respectful and informed dialogue, and an open-door policy. Those values will not change -- but our ability to uphold them will strengthen.

We are willing to take messy action in the direction of equality, even if that means making mistakes sometimes.

We promise to:

Let discourse and conflict arise where it is healthy and necessary, though we will in no way condone, allow, or protect hate speech. We will acknowledge the conflict, allow space for community members to be heard and deal with the underlying issue rather than demonizing the community member who raised the issue. We will be willing to sit in the discomfort of being called in where it may arise, and to take action to implement the needs expressed by community members. We have set up community guidelines and are working toward training our community moderators on how to have culturally responsive communications and handle conflict online, and we have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying and hate speech.
We promise to use our access, privilege, and resources to support others, particularly BIPOC.

We promise to do everything in our power to maintain a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for healing, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexuality, income, ability, and more.

If there is ever anything you think we can be doing better, or suggestions you have for us, please don’t hesitate to send your thoughts to support@holisticPCOSmethod.com and we promise to get back to you promptly.

Thank you for contributing to this community and helping to make it a safe space for all!
